The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) has confirmed that its latest fee increase has been approved by both the UK and Scottish Parliaments.

Effective 29 April 2025, new applicants will be charged a revised annual fee of £123.34—an increase of £6.98—while existing registrants will continue paying the current rate until their next renewal cycle, with most not seeing the new fee until 2026.

Paramedics and orthoptists will be the first professions to adopt the new fee from 1 June 2025. This incremental rise is designed to help the HCPC meet its statutory duty to protect patients and service users by funding essential improvements and managing a 26% increase in Fitness to Practise referrals.
