A new research project is investigating sexual misconduct amongst professionals in positions of high public trust, which includes: doctors and psychiatrists; religious leaders; police; military; judges and barristers; and politicians. In particular, this project is investigating how doctors’ sexual misconduct is experienced and investigated, with a view to improving regulatory and disciplinary procedures.

The project is now seeking the views of those who have experience concerning cases of doctors’ sexual misconduct, specifically:

  • Do you have experience working on cases concerning doctors’ sexual misconduct? OR
  • Have you experienced or witnessed sexual misconduct or abuse perpetrated by doctors?

The project is seeking anonymous interviews with people working (currently or formerly) in areas relating to misconduct, disciplinary or professionals standards processes or policy, as well as legal counsel working on these cases.

The project is also conducting an online survey for those who have either experienced, or know someone who has experienced, sexual misconduct from doctors.

Any and all views on this topic are welcomed, as we would like to maximise the impact of this project, and to suggest improvements at both the organisational and regulator levels.
