The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) has opened its first annual registrant perceptions survey, inviting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across Great Britain to share their experiences of professional practice, regulation and the standards that shape their work.

Running from 14 May to 11 June 2026, the five‑minute survey aims to build a clear baseline of registrant sentiment and strengthen how the regulator listens to the profession. The GPhC says the findings will directly inform improvements to regulatory approaches, professional standards and the support it provides.

The survey asks registrants about their day‑to‑day practice, their views on GPhC standards, and their perceptions of how pharmacy is regulated. Responses are anonymous and will be analysed in aggregate to guide policy development and future decision‑making.

An optional equality monitoring section is included to help the GPhC understand how experiences vary across different groups within the profession. The regulator emphasises that all data will be handled securely and in line with its privacy policy. The survey is hosted by SmartSurvey Ltd, with safeguards to ensure confidentiality.

The GPhC is encouraging all pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to take part, saying their feedback is essential to shaping the future of pharmacy regulation. Findings will be published once the analysis is complete and will form part of an annual cycle to track trends over time.
