The University of Huddersfield’s (UoH) BSc (Hons) Optometry programme has been fully approved by the General Optical Council.
The UoH’s optometry programme has been quality assured prior to the first cohort of students joining the programme as set out in the GOC’s Accreditation and Quality Assurance Handbook: Routes to Registration in Optometry (2015) and Temporary Accreditation and Quality Assurance Handbook: Routes to GOC Registration for Optometrists (2020).
UoH students can directly apply for registration with the GOC upon completion of this optometry programme.
Under the Opticians Act, the GOC has the power to approve qualifications and education institutions offering optical training.
