DH launches investigation into private prescribing ‘safety’

The Department of Health and Social Care (DH) has launched an investigation into the safety and effectiveness of private non-NHS prescribing in the UK, amid growing concerns about patient safeguards and system oversight.

Announced on 12 August, the department’s call for evidence invites views from healthcare professionals, regulators, and the public on how private prescribing currently operates.
