The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) has confirmed it will shortly restart in-person fitness to practise hearings.
At the most recent GPhC Council meeting on the 22nd of April, GPhC Head of Adjudication Services, Paul Cummins provided the council with an update on the resumption of in-person hearings.
Following the conclusion of the Council meeting, the GPhC confirmed that it was preparing to resume in-person hearings from 17 May 2021 onwards. This date coincides with the next major milestone in the Government’s roadmap out of England’s lockdown.
The GPhC also said it would “continue to keep the situation under close review throughout”.
Responding to the announcement on Twitter, respondents have questioned the wisdom of this when Covid restrictions are still in place. It has been pointed out that remote hearings have worked well with some registrants referring remote hearings.
