The General Medical Council (GMC) has issued common questions regarding regulating physician associates and anaesthesia associates.

On its website, the GMC wrote:

Physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs) play a key role as part of multi-disciplinary teams in a range of healthcare settings.

The four UK governments have asked the GMC to regulate these professionals. We’re awaiting the change in the law which will allow this to happen.
